Mia Allen

Mia is a final year LL.B with political science candidate at Trinity College Dublin. She has been involved with ELSA since the second year of her studies, acting as President for ELSA Trinity College Dublin last year.

She co-founded the Frances Kyle National Moot Competition in 2021, and has ran the event for two years. She has hosted many of ELSA TCD events over the coming years from academic panels to socials.

She has been passionate about making legal education and professional development as accessible as possible, which is her motivation with ELSA Ireland this year.

Adam O’Carroll

Adam is an LLM candidate at the Trinity College Dublin School of Law this year. He previously completed his Bachelor of Laws LL.B. degree at Maynooth University, graduating with first class-honours. During his time at Maynooth University, Adam was heavily involved in extracurricular society life throughout college, which included the ELSA Maynooth local group.

Adam has been involved with ELSA Ireland for several years now. For instance, he has competed in numerous ELSA-affiliated intervarsity moot court competitions, including being a finalist in the inaugural edition of ELSA Trinity’s Frances Kyle Moot Court Competition in March 2023. He was also a finalist in the second edition of the moot court competition in January 2024. Adam has also served as a member of the judging panel for the ELSA Maynooth’s International Negotiation Competition (‘INC’) for the past two years, in March 2023 and March 2024, respectively.

Adam is enthusiastic about the year that lies ahead, and is eager to continue upholding ELSA Ireland’s objectives in fostering an inclusive environment in which students have the opportunity to grow and the platform to develop their interpersonal skills. Adam aims to instil this sense of community both at the National Board level in addition to each of the ELSA local groups across the island of Ireland.

Regina Chow

Originally from Malaysia, this is Regina’s 4th year living in Dublin. Currently she’s studying Law and Media Studies in DCU. In DCU she’s the First Year JH Rep for the DCU Law Society and is a member of 10 societies.

Since she was fifteen Regina has begun working in social media and photography. Working for Young Choral Academy, Regina was the Social Media Officer till she moved to Dublin. Alongside that, during the 24th International Kodály Symposium in 2019 she was a photographer and the youngest staff member in the international group of staff.

Regina’s passion in Law and her experience in Media has allowed her to practice the role of VP for Marketing for ELSA Ireland. In her role, Regina aims to engage, enrich, and elevate law students in Ireland through ELSA’s opportunities and through the beauty of marketing.

Bláithín Scully

Bláithín is a final year law student, she is completing her bachelors degree at Maynooth University. Last year, she served as the Director for Conferences and Seminars, while also being part of organising committees for International and National events.

Bláithín is eager to maintain a dynamic environment for students to develop their advocacy skills. She is driven by the opportunity to create and organise competitions that challenge participants, enhance their critical thinking, advocacy, and team work abilities. Witnessing the growth and enthusiasm of students as they engage in competitions is incredibly rewarding. This motivates her to continually innovate and improve our competitions.

Sinéad Mañalac

Sinead Alison Mañalac is a first-year Law student at Dublin City University. She has demonstrated exceptional dedication to her academic and professional growth since the age of 15, earning a scholarship to DCU’s Early University Entrance Programme, achieving First Class Honours for Law and Politics, and participating in Oxford University’s summer programme in Contract Law. Currently, she is Class Representative for her course and First Year BCL Representative for DCU Law Society.

Sinead’s commitment to progressiveness and fostering a more inclusive legal community is deeply personal. Raised by a single mother from the Philippines, she has drawn inspiration from her upbringing and her exposure to diverse cultures during her studies. She is dedicated to tackling systemic issues at their core and advocating for a legal system that reflects and includes diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

She is excited to work with the National Board, where she hopes to drive impactful initiatives that champion diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in the legal field. Through this role, Sinead aims to create meaningful opportunities for engagement and collaboration across Ireland’s legal community, while furthering her vision for a fair and equitable profession.

Eloise Downey

Eloise is a second year BCL student in Dublin City University. She has long been fascinated with law, studying Law and Politics in DCU’s Early University Entrance Programme, achieving First Class Honours.

Eloise is heavily involved in society life, as Foreign Trips Officer for DCU Debate Society and DCU FLAC’s Legal Research Officer. With FLAC, she has established the first Intervarsity FLAC Essay Competition with TCD, UG, UCC and UCD. She is also the author of the monthly newsletter on student centric rights, such as property and employment. In addition to this, she is in the process of working on a Legal Research Project with 30 participants.

She plans to use this experience in her role as VP for Academic Activities this year. She is passionate about making legal education not only accessible but engaging and entertaining as well.

Darragh Mc Donald

Darragh McDonald is a first-year Law student at Dublin City University. At DCU, he is the first-year representative for the DCU Law Society and an enthusiastic member of FLAC and ELSA. Darragh’s interest in law stemmed from his passion for rugby. Having played for Munster Rugby for three years, he learned the true meaning of teamwork, problem-solving, and discipline—skills he has carried forward into his academics and extracurricular activities.

Having recently moved from rural West Cork, societies like ELSA have helped him build a network and understand the complex career paths available to legal scholars. This is why he is committed to advancing ELSA Ireland, providing students with opportunities to develop professional skills, connect with like-minded peers, and explore valuable programs such as ELSA traineeships. Darragh feels privileged to be in a position to create real opportunities for students and is dedicated to bridging the gap between education and profession.
